WonderCon 2008 Costume Gallery

Even at a a small 'con like WonderCon, plenty of fans dress-up as their favorite characters. My years of taking photos of costumed fanboys and girls took the best of me, though, as it has become increasingly difficult to get excited enough about certain outfits that you see con after con. Namely Stormtroopers, Clone Troopers, Superman, Spiderman, and the Fett family. I was only at WonderCon for one day and took about fourteen photos this year, but most of them have multiple costumed peoples. The most surprising, and best, costume was the dude dressed as Pyramid Head from the Silent Hill series. He handled that over-sized sword (and head) like an undead champ form hell. Accompanying him was a gross nurse that stayed in character the entire time by dragging a rusty pipe and walking slowly, with intentions of malice and harm. They were absolutely perfect. Until the next con, enjoy the photos.

Pyramid Head and his zombie nurse concubine were easily the best costumes at WonderCon '08. Great job, Silent Hill fans.

The Monarch henchman on the left was totally into his character and had the voice down perfectly.

Geisha Pirate... and her Mormon slave? Cultist? Dark illuminati apprentice? Uh... Geisha Pirate!

The troops were representing Cobra in full force.

The Crimson Guard was good, Cobra Commander was 8 feet tall, a "Cobra Youth." Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow were a bit too weighty for ninjas.

The couple as Archangel and Lady Deathstrike change their costumes multiple times at the 'con. The Space Marine changes his pants multiple times.

Because you demanded it, a solo shot of the female Cobra Trooper.

Hey, it's that couple again, now as Loki and Polaris. Keep those air-brushed muscles coming.

Dragon McCool Guy from some dragon-related media. Or a dragon-furry. Would he be a "scaly" then?

Peter Mayhew wasn't in a costume of course, but his sign was hilarious.
