VGR: Valken Gets a Boost and More Thunder Force V Takara Tomy A.R.T.S. Video Game Robotics' mighty Valken is receiving his cherished booster this month. Assault Suit Valken can boost through the skies with ease. We got to see the unpainted prototype last month, but this release has a slightly altered paint job for the figure itself. For now it'll only be sold at a couple events in Japan. If you happen to be attending Comic Market 77 from December 29th - 31st or Wonder Festival Winter 2010 in February you can pick up one of these bad boys for a mere ¥1,000 (about $11). If you're there, pick one up for me and we can deal.
We also get our first look at the regular color of the Shooting Game Historica EX Thunder Force V Perfect System limited edition set. This thing is up for pre-order at amiami.com for ¥12800 (a mean $140) and I understand a little more why it's so pricy; this thing is huge! It's 400mm, over 15-inches long! That's massive! Maybe not $140 worth of massive, but much, much bigger than any other SGH ship. Both of these this may be tough to get for the overseas shooter fan, but some importer out there somewhere will have these, I just know it.
