Okkusenman Memories We all have those special memories of that something special we had when we were kids. For some, those memories include Ultraman or Mega Man. I would be in the Mega Man category and still have all my Mega Man games complete and in perfect working order. The song Omoide wa Okkusenman basically translates to "Memories are Billion Thousands" and can actually be applied to almost any good memories from when you were young. For those that want a sing about theses memories at karaoke, some kind fan has put the Romanji lyrics over the screaming guy, so you can scream-sing along to your hearts content while watching the greatness of Mega Man. For those that want to know just exactly what the heck they are singing, another fan has placed rough English subtitles over the video. The lyrics about the memories may seem a little odd, but it's Japanese, so it's actually perfectly fine. Knowing the words will also prepare you for the next couple videos. This next video is of the lyrics in motion. See, someone did a mini-anime of a guy acting out the lyrics through his memories. I do not know the actual origin of the animation, but it captures Ultraman, Mega Man (Rockman here), and memories of being a kid so perfectly. A few versions of Okkusenman have been put over it, as well as some instrumental versions. You can watch it with the screaming guy if you want, but I feel this version matches it better.
This next one lacks the lyrics, but it certainly doesn't need them. This is Okkusenman on a music box and is so incredibly good. The guy's memories are even in sepia tone. If you thought that TAMUSIC's violin / piano combo got you teary-eyed, wait until you hear this.
After that you are either thinking about that special something you had as a kid or you started crying like a little school girl. While most people think of Mega Man or Ultraman while listening to Okkusenman, someone thinks about their cat. It's sweet and odd, but any cat that is a fan of Okkusenman really raises the bar for all other cats in pajamas. Here's to you, Okkusenman cat. I also changed my mind about the violin Okkusenman being played at my funeral; I now want music-box Okkusenman. There won't be a dry eye in the house after that. - Shawn - 06/28/07 Okkusenman, Mega Man, OKKUSENMAN!!! Okkusenman Lyrics and Instant Karaoke |
