Considering Duke Nukem
Forever actually took forever to come out, an extra month of waiting
won't be so bad. |
-
Everyone should have seen this coming, but it's still kind of funny that it
happened:
Duke Nukem Forever has been delayed one more time. The new date is June 14th, but for
some reason Europe gets it before the U.S. What the hell?
-
There's going to be a new Resident Evil game called
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City that will take place during RE2 and
3. You play as an Umbrella agent who may have to kill survivors and can
actually alter RE history. Meanwhile, if you want a ridiculously
complete history of Resident Evil, here is the extensive 61-page
Chronology of Evil. Resident Evil: Code Veronica X and Resident
Evil 4 will get the HD re-mastered treatment in
Resident Evil: Revival Selection.
-
Mortal Kombat isn't out yet, but there's already a DLC plan for
new characters. The first two DLC characters are
Kenshi and Skarlett. Skarlett is based on an arcade glitch that would turn
Katana, Mileena, or Jade, red. Kintaro is also being planned as DLC.
-
Toro
and Kuro will be free DLC for Disgaea 4 in Japan, where
they'll be applying for Congress. You have to have already beaten the game to
see them, though.
-
Hideo Kojima might have
two announcements at E3 this year. Yeah, that's about it for now, but you
can speculate what he'll be announcing.
-
There's a new
trailer for Jamestown, the shooter that puts 17th Century
soldiers in a bullet-hell shooter on Mars. Epic.
Movies / TV
-
The greatest cartoon ever,
The Venture Bros., will have at least two more seasons, a 60-90 minute
special, and an extra 11-minute special. Awesome!
-
There will be another Donkey Kong documentary called
Doctor Kong, but this is a short, not a feature-length film like The
King of Kong. This one if about Hank Chien, the plastic surgeon that came
out of nowhere to claim the DK world record. That laugh of his could
get irritating, though.

"What are you looking at,
Bruce? My cleavage is right here. See?" |
-
Arrival, possibly last DLC for Mass Effect 2 will, uh, arrive on May 29th.
This should bridge the gap between ME2 and ME3.
-
Hasbro and Jagex Limited are making a
online Transformers game for 2012. Hopefully it won't be the crappy movie
designs.
-
Toshimichi Hori of Arc System Works said that
Guilty Gear players are too old to play fighting games. This is why there
is BlazBlue and no more Guilty Gear.

Darius Burst: Another
Chronicle knows what real widescreen gaming is. |
-
The
Darius Burst: Another Chronicle super ultra ridiculous widescreen
arcade machine will be getting an update. The Unlock A update adds over 500
new areas, new areas for the Second Silver Hawk, and new bosses. I wonder if
this will ever see release on a home console. It certainly needs one.
-
Did you know the Capcom logo uses the
same font as the answers on Jeopardy? Amazing.
-
DrunkNES is a breathalyzer made from a an NES cartridge and is just
genius.
-
East Asia Soft's next title will be a strategy RPG called
Rainbow Moon. I enjoyed the Söldner-X games so I'm looking forward
to what they do for this.
-
Record of Agarest War Zero will have a Limited Edition, but it won't have
a booby mouse pad or suggestive box art. What it does include a deck of
playing cards, a deck of skill cards, a character guide, a soundtrack, and a
lovely blue box.
Movies / TV
-
Marvel could be bringing an
Inhumans movie after this whole Avengers thing.

"Sub Zero murdered my
teddy bear, that's why I hate Sub Zero. And teddy bears." |
-
Mortal Kombat will have a
Challenge Tower consisting of 300 missions. This type of thing is nothing
new to fighting games, however, the Challenge Tower is a little different
because it'll include fights with modifiers (like having no arms), mini games
like Test Your Might, Test Your Sight, Test Your Strike, and Test Your Luck,
and just general ridiculousness. In one mission Mileena made a teddy bear for
Scorpion, but Scorpion doesn't want it. So they fight. Yep, ridiculous and
somehow awesome.
-
The
Gears of War 3 beta begins on April 18th, for those of you
who bought Bulletstorm: Epic Edition. For everyone else, the beta
starts on April 25th. There are lots of nifty unlockables to get during the
beta and if you want them all you'll be playing a lot.
-
In the latest
Iwata Asks, this time about Steel Diver, Shigeru Miyamoto
said he was mortified when Capcom released Steel Battalion with its
massive controller because it was something he had wanted to do.
-
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 is in early development... wait, shouldn't
it be almost done by now? It's gonna be a long time before we get to play more
of this game. Episode 2 will fix some issues from Episode 1 and
will have brand new stages.
Movies / TV
-
G.I. Joe 2 will be out on August 10th, 2012. So far only three cast
members are returning: Lee Byung-hun, Ray Park, and Channing Tatum.
-
Star Wars Episode 1 will be
in theaters in 3D on February 10th, 2012. The others will be released one
a year. So, don't see any Star Wars movies in the theaters for a while, or at
least not Episode 1.
