"Commander Shepard, I recognize this silhouette. Sagat will be in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3! Or maybe it's Guy."

  • Mass Effect 2's The Shadow Broker DLC will be out on 9/7. It will include the Shadow Broker intel center, new research, and five new achievements. You can finally continue your relationship with Liara if you want, or possibly have awkward conversations because of all the foolin' around you did with the other characters. For some reason the DLC will be priced $10, not the $7 the other DLC mission packs were priced at.

  • There's a DeathSpank sequel coming out September 21 (PSN) and 22nd (XBLA). Too soon? Yes. DeathSpank is a great game, but shouldn't this "sequel" have been a part of it? Were we sold one game as two?

  • The last BioShock 2 DLC sounds like it's worth getting. In Minerva's Den you play as Subject Sigma in a story that occurs during the regular BioShock 2 events. Apparently there's a new Big Daddy in there, too.

  • The September issue of PlayStation: Official Magazine UK will have more Batman: Arkham City art with Harley Quinn's backside on the cover.

  • The Gears of War novel Anvil Gate will tell the story between parts 2 and 3.

  • Another Dead Rising 2 edition has been announced: the High Stakes Edition. This one includes a Fortune City poker set, a Fortune City visitor map, and a Terror is Reality XVII ticket with a code for the Psycho Skills DLC. Plus, one of the tickets will be a golden ticket redeemable for a 6' tall burnt zombie statue. I think I'll stick with the Zombrex edition. Speaking of DR2, 1up has an interview with Keiji Inafune about his Zombrex Dead Rising Sun movie.

Movies / TV

  • A security guard revealed that the big fire truck in Transformers 3 is Sentinel Prime. There is also a black Decepticon SUV. Thanks, random security guy!

  • The Complete Metropolis, the restoration of Fritz Lang's 1927 Metropolis, will be on Blu-ray (and DVD) on 11/16. It includes 25-minutes of "lost" footage and has the original score.

Figures

  • Takara has updated the Transformers 2010 Campaign page with nee images of the re-issue Predaking. Hasbro needs to being the king out in North America somehow.

Bond Man would've put Mega Man in a sticky situation.

  • Did you know there was a lost Mega Man boss called Bond Man? I didn't, but thanks to Mega Man Network's article about Bond Man now I do. There was originally supposed to be eight bosses in the original Rockman/Mega Man game, but during development it was determined that only six would make it into the game. Keiji Inafune had seven bosses designed, so Bond Man got cut. And that's "Bond" as in glue, not James Bond. Inafune thought about putting Bond Man back into the Mega Man Powered Up remake for the PSP, but decided to leave him as a legend and made two new characters instead. Yeah, because that blatantly racist Oilman was a much better choice. Some fans are hoping that Bond Man will be in the upcoming Mega Man Universe.

  • Atlus is making a crazy surreal game called Catherine. It has animation by Studio 4C, murder, sex, and sheep in neckties. It's looks amazing.

  • How far along is Tekken X Street Fighter? There's a character model for Ryu, but he's wearing Paul's uniform. So, not very.

  • A listing for a Mortal Kombat Compilation was posted then quickly taken down. Shouldn't that be "Kompilation?" As for the new Mortal Kombat, Kitana and Cyrax are returning. Neither should be surprising, but it'll be good to see them again.

  • A Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 commercial was busted for actually showing PS3 footage from the game. Ha!

Figures

  • Kotobukiya's Roll figure is going to be nearly as great as the Rockman/Mega Man figure. She'll have her original and Mega Man 8 outfits, three faces, and extra hands.

Movies

  • Sam Worthington is in talks to star in the Commando remake. They should give Schwarzenegger a cameo.

  • Hey, more X-Men: First Class casting. January Jones as Emma Frost, Rose Byrne as Moira McTaggert, Jason Flemyng as Azazel, and Oliver Platt as The Man in Black. There's a character called The Man in Black? Ugh.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon will contain all the excitement of the previous games, but now with a single button press.

  • The Ace Combat series is returning, but heading in a new direction with Ace Combat: Assault Horizon. The debut trailer shows off some new things being added to the formula: helicopter piloting, firing a gun from inside of a 'copter, and quick-time events. I don't like the idea of quick time events in AC, but hopefully developer Project Aces can make them work and the additions won't feel out-of-place. It certainly has the look of an AC.

  • The next BioShock game will be quite different from the undersea city of Rapture. BioShock Infinite is taking the themes of BioShock and placing them in the sky city of Columbia. Flower power looks to be a genetic upgrade and there are some kind of Big Daddies lurking about.

  • Edge has an interview with Tomonobu Itagaki where he admits that the last boss in Dead or Alive 4 was too difficult and reveals that he would be interested in entering politics. Damn, I'd vote for the guy. He'd probably have boobs on all of his political materials. As for his new game Devil's Third, it may not arrive until 2013.

  • A rumor indicates two PS2 collections due to hit the PS3 are a Prince of Persia Trilogy and a Splinter Cell Trilogy. I'd definitely get the Prince of Persia collection because maybe I wouldn't run into the game-ending bug that caused me to never finish Warrior Within on the Xbox.

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops is getting a Prestige Edition that includes a surveillance RC vehicle that has color video and audio to spy on your neighbors. Someone's going to get in trouble with this.

Movies / TV

  • The Expendables is the manliest movie of the year, possibly all years. If you are a man you absolutely need to see it. If The Expendables does well, Sylvester Stallone has a sequel that he might just be ready to make.

  • What does Katsuhiro Harada, director of the Tekken games, think of the Tekken movie? "That Hollywood movie is terrible," Harada posted on his Twitter. "We were not able to supervise that movie (it was a cruel contract)."

Games

Maybe the game should be named Batman: Kinky City.

  • The sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum has been named Batman: Arkham City. A section of Gotham City has become the new prison for Arkham inmates. Two-Face looks to be in the game along with Catwoman, who might be an ally by the look of the Game Informer covers. More details will be revealed in the next issue of Game Informer.

  • Billy Mitchell is once again the world champion of Donkey Kong and is the new world champ for Donkey Kong Jr. He actually quit his Donkey Kong game right after beating the high score and said this choice quote: "Some say I'm being cocky. Some say I'm being lazy. I say, I'm being Billy Mitchell." Ha, what a jerk. Will Wiebe ever be back on top?

  • Vanquish looks like a fun game, but it won't have a robot dog companion. Man, they cut out the best thing.

  • The upcoming downloadable title Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will eventually have some DLC. DLC does not stand for downloadable content, however, but for Downloadable Lara Croft.

  • Half-Minute Hero, the best PSP game of all time, is getting a sequel. Will they have upgrade it to a full-minute hero?

  • North America didn't get one, but Europe is getting a collector's edition of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift that includes an art book and art/move cards. They also get a Fan Edition that has the art stuff, plus a Noel figurine, an art print from Udon artist Alvin Lee, and a code for Makoto DLC character.

  • Namco made a bunch of robot in the 80s, which were re-discovered by Plastic Pals.

  • There will be a Transformers MMO out in 2011, but it won't be released in North America. Not yet at least.

  • This is vaguely game-related: UFC fighter Roger Huerta, who plays Miguel in the Tekken movie, beat the crap out of a guy who punched a girl. There's video, too.

Movies / TV

  • The Avengers teaser from SDCC is online and it's just the logo with Samuel l. Jackson talking. So, pretty much nothing.

  • Mathew Vaughn has to think up a couple new scenes for X-Men: First Class because what he wanted to do was too similar to scenes from Inception. And if you haven't seen Inception yet, get to it.

  • Steven Sommers will return to direct G.I. Joe 2. I hope it turns out better than the first one.

Figures

  • First4Figures now has a collection of six Sonic the Hedgehog figurines. Unlike the rest of their stuff, they're affordable to regular gamers at only $29.99 for the set.

Awesome

Chewbacca riding a giant squirrel fighting Nazis. Simply amazing.

  • Chewbacca rode a giant squirrel to crush Nazi oppression. It could be the awesomest thing ever. Check out more of Tyler Edlin's art on deviantART.

Games

  • A talented Capcom fan made a Mega Man Vs. Street Fighter game for Capcom's World of Capcom Fan Art contest. It's like an old-school Mega Man NES game, but Mega Man fights in a Ryu-themed stage complete with an 8-bit version of the music. The boss is Ryu who performs fireballs, hurricane kicks, and dragon punches. The camera even zooms in when he performs a Super. I say this should win.

  • Something called Starcraft II came out this week. I don't know about that, but it does include a shooter mini-game called Lost Viking. It has nothing to do with the old puzzle platformer The Lost Vikings, but it looks like it could be fun. Also, someone made a Lego Starcraft.

  • Like Bayonetta, Platinum Games' Vanquish will have a casual automatic mode. To make up for the ultra easy difficulty, it will also have a God hard mode.

  • Movie director Guillermo del Toro will have some kind of hand in making videogames. An official announcement is expected soon.

  • Designer Igor Chak made a svelte Space Invaders couch and is looking for someone to help him make a limited production run. This thing will be insanely expensive.

  • See some new Street Fighter X Tekken screenshots here and here.

Movies

  • It looks like Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch is going to have everything in it. Literally, everything.

  • Check out the trailer for Gareth Edwards' Monsters.
