As if Hello Kitty wasn't rich enough, now she is printing her own money. The Asakusa shopping district in Japan is issuing patrons old-style Yen coins with ruler Hello Kitty plastered on it. 500 stores in the area are actually accepting it as real currency. This is only a small area, but just wait; in today's economy Hello Kitty money could easily topple all others and become the de facto world currency. Sanrio is obviously planning... something.
