Hello Kitty Used as Punishment?

When you hear incredibly bizarre news it's a 50/50 chance that the news is either coming out of Florida or Asia. In this case Asia is the winner. In particular, the wonderful nation of Thailand where I'm pretty sure the only reason to visit is to have sex with an underage prostitute or if you find yourself in a street fighting tournament. Either way, you can't go wrong.

Recently, a new punishment for misbehaving police officers in Thailand was revealed. Instead of dolling out something normal like suspensions or firings, Thai police superiors can hand out pink Hello Kitty armbands to shame miscreant officers.

Now if you're a long time reader of Digital Monkey Box you might know that I have a certain... fondness for Hello Kitty. I'm going to go on record and say that a Hello Kitty armband should be a badge of honor, not of shame. Maybe an armband featuring Mickey Mouse or Justin Timberlake would be better suited as punishment as they are both lame, unlike Hello Kitty.
