Halo Series 5 Changes with Guardian Armor Slayers Deluxe

There are some changes to McFarlane Toys' Halo Series 5 lineup a.k.a. Equipment Edition wave 2. Some figures from Series 6 are heading into 5 and other figures are currently MIA. According to Spawn.com, the wave will no longer include the Marine, yellow Scout, Active Camo Brute (a previous exclusive), Blue Eva, red EOD (it's in the current Series 4 assortment) and Master Chief. "A wave without Master Chief?! Impossible!" you say? Well, you're right. It is impossible for McFarlane Toys to release a new series of Halo figures that does not include Master Chief, so the re-sorted assortment will have Active Camo Master Chief instead. At least it's not just another regular MC.

Series 5 will now include: Active Camo Master Chief, Sgt. Johnson, Jump Pack Brute, silver Elite Assault, brown Elite Combat (Toys R Us exclusive), and the Spartan variants of cyan Scout (surprisingly not a Wal-Mart exclusive), white Hayabusa, violet ODST (BigBadToyStore), pale Eva (Entertainment Earth), crimson Eva (Diamond Comics), and gold CQB (Transworld). Diamond Comics will also have a Halo Wars weapons pack that include 16 UNSC and Covenant weapons, if you need more weapons to peg on the backs of your figures. It's too bad the wave is loosing the Marine, but Sgt. Johnson is a good replacement. We'll see if the Marine is added into Series 6. Halo Series 5 Equipment Edition Wave 2 will be in stores in July.

McFarlane Toys is also showing off a few new figure packs that should be in stores alongside Series 5. The first is a Team Slayer Guardian two-pack featuring a blue Spartan with white trim and a snazzy red Elite Combat with purple trim. There will also be two Deluxe Armor Packs. These have a base Spartan wearing a specific armor and include three additional sets of armor. The red Spartan will have Scout armor on the figure with red versions of the ODST, CQB, and Eva armors. Red CQB and Eva Spartans have already been released in previous waves and this looks like the only way to get red Scout and ODST armor. The other armor pack has a brand new color: teal. The teal Spartan will include a Mark VI armor on the figure with extra CQB, EOD, and Security armor. I like the idea of the armor packs, giving you four armors without having to buy four separate figures. These certainly would have been nice to have around when the Halo figures first came out. Those who already bought the red CQB and Eva Spartans will have two extra armor sets, unfortunately. Continue on for the official photos of the new series 5 figures and go here for the previously shown/known series 5 figures.

"Oh man, the final episode of Battlestar Galactica is going to be so good." -- "Yeah it is. I wonder who's going to survive."

There's only room for one Marine in series 5, and Sgt. Johnson takes precedence over any no-name soldier.

"I have a jet pack!"

Do you really need more weapons?

"Damn. That cyan Spartan is in Scout armor, too. I knew I should have worn my ODST armor."

"Hmmm, which teal armor do I want to wear today?"

"Nothing can stop the Crimson Eva of doom."

"That red Spartan knew all I had was Scout armor, so why'd he wear his to the Spartan party? That guy's a real jerk."
