E3 2005

Atari must think that people still care about the Matrix. Link Graced the stairway this year. Link's new adventure awaits in Twilight Princess. An army sniper offs gamers that get out of control.

Welcome the PS3. PSP and a very small part of the line to see Playstation 3. Solid Snake takes a seat during the hilarious Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer. The Rockstar booth was fenced off from the unclean and protected by many buses.

After the Namco girls did their dance number Kilik and Mitsurugi made appearances... ...and had a fierce battle over Namco's sexy sirens. If you don't like hot babes or fighting action Namco has plenty of cuteness just for you. The upper portion of the Soul Caliber 3 booth.

Tira.

Setsuka.

Zasalamel. That is a difficult name to say.

Beware, a Pac-Man lurks in the darkness.

"Pac-Man is eating my brain!!!"

Random Japanese guy pushes the Katamari. The Prince returns for the third year in a row. Konami shoves dancing games down your throat. The majesty of Koei.

We certainly do.

Finally, I can play an arcade perfect port of STUN Runner.

An shot from above from the PSP balcony.

The Nobunaga scroll.

A shrine at the Koei booth.

The loveable Mario crew. More Nintendo characters. Mario has done nearly everything with DDR Mario Mix. Now we just need a Mario FPS. Not getting enough Mario? Here's Mario soccer and baseball.

More Nintendo.

Real life anime Link was neat, but a little creepy.

The pinball warfare of Odama now has voice recognition.

Viewtiful Joe iced coffee. Delicious! (Actually it was Mr. Brown iced coffee with a Capcom sticker.)

A new Onimusha trilogy begins with Dawn of Dreams.

Save the land using calligraphy with a mystical wolf in Okami. Smaller is better, according to Nintendo. The Square booth was very similar to last year's. A slime controller for Dragon Quest VIII.

Shadow the Hedgehog is thinking...

...about shooting you!!!

Tommy Tallarico was wearing a sweet pirate shirt. Victor Lucas was normal as usual.

A shrine to slimes.

See, it really is a controller.

The unstoppable EA booth. The screen encircled the inside of the dome and showed off game footage... ...such as Need for Speed: Most Wanted... ...and Burnout Revenge.

The Burnout car is crashing into the LCD screen! Are we not all imperfect? Wolverine is pissed that you didn't call him back. The ultimate Spiderman booth for Spiderman Ultimate.

Witness the multiplayer action of Starcraft Ghost. The phallic and painful Quake Wars display. You need the 360 when you have this. This controller will revolutionize the way games are played.

The Ghost herself.

The Quake 4 tower.

Fantastic 4: A mediocre game for a mediocre movie.

Angry knights should not be smiling like this.

The classic Return of the Jedi arcade machine.

I didn't pay much attention to the Brady Games booth, but they had some nice large pics. Aeon Flux is a tough girl, but cowers in fear now that Jaws has been... UNLEASHED! Tecmo banners feature game girls and a disembodied head. Random banners for random games.

Zeta Gundam gets more of the recognition it deserves in the new Gundam game. Gundam: The door. The sound from the Lucas Arts screen was better than the theater we saw Episode III at. A stormtrooper, a Jedi chick, and Boba Fett walk into a bar...

The new Batmobile kicks it hard. Mega Man needs to get around somehow. War of the Worlds was heavily promoted even though this was a video game convention. A new super deformed Metal Slug and a cute shooter.

An fully functional and operational eight foot NES controller was at the G4 booth. Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb did live G4 shows at E3. The only male performer for this show that was wearing some kind of a shirt. Capcom had to pick the most non-tough poses and facial expressions for the Final Fight Streetwise guys.

Two of the Wayans brothers promote cell games that are as good as their unfunny movies. Some crazy flight sim setup. Just give up already. You too, Gizmondo.
