The Hardware of E3 2004

Here you are ladies, a PSP for the hip gamer Grrrl.

There was a bit of new hardware at this year's E3. Sony's PSP and Nintendo's DS made their debut. The ApeXtreme DISCover was playable on the floor and the mysterious Phantom console, by Infinium Labs, revealed itself. The useless new N-Gage was there as was Gizmondo, which seems like something that will follow the same fate as N-Gage. There were a bunch of peripherals all over the place, like the nifty Pistolmouse, and we got a good look at an interesting device called Zodiac.

We do have a confession to make, though. We never actually went to see the PSP and DS. We were originally planning on standing in the overly long lines where the wait was an hour or more, but then we saw other cool games and went to try them. Then we saw more booth babes and had to get their pic. Eventually we had to make a decision; wait in these ridiculously time consuming lines, or try more games that we didn't play yet. We chose the games... and the girls. Besides, we'd be able to read all about them and see pics of the things when we got home and we're sure they're better than all the other new consoles at the show anyway. We snagged one pic of a white PSP at some point, but that was really it. We felt we made the right choice. Below are our opinions on the hardware we did check out.
